343. Sweet Love for the Family

The love for Family Day is on our minds. At a nursery school for children with PDD (Pervasive Development Disorder) the children baked heart-shaped cookies, and filled their decorated boxes with heart-shaped chocolates....how sweet love is!

338. "Odd Chicken"

As I venture into the world of cooking I am having a dinner at my place tonight. The guinea pigs will be dining on curried chicken. At this stage, I make no promises about the taste, but this heart proves that this meal will be made with love.

A while after purchasing the ingredients I was speaking with Danielle (from yesterday's post), who frequently translates Hebrew expressions into English - I love when she spoke of someone as an "Odd Chicken".

336. Take and Give

It's been a long day - I came home tired and hungry. I hadn't yet photographed a heart, and was so happy to find this one waiting for me in my mail box.

This heart came to me. If I want what it has to offer I have to be active and then I will get it - it's a sure thing. This heart reminds us that in love we must give and take.

290. Sufganiyah

Hanukkah, which ends today, celebrates the miracle associated with the temple oil. As a result Jews around the world spend 8 days having an absolute love hate relationship with fried food.

The sufganiyah, which in Israel resembles a regular doughnut, reminds me of when I was young and my family would go to Dunkin' Doughnuts for dinner. My parents would get a dozen doughnuts and every person could choose three. If sufganiyot are related to miracles - it's a miracle I am alive after that!

This heart oozes with sweet love, and will be deeply missed until next year.

71. Overcoming Rejection

This advertisments for Israeli almonds seems to be everywhere. Should you miss it once, a few meters away you will have the opportunity to see it again.

This morning I had my first rejection for a heart. I asked someone to photograph a heart they were wearing and I was turned down. Then, as though she knew I needed a pick me up, my wonderful friend Danielle surprised me with this picture she took this morning - Thank you!

This heart proves that opportunities, like this ad, are everywhere and we cannot let rejections keep us down!

19. Tradition, Tradition!

This morning little bodies draped in oversized plastic aprons and chef hats, rolled balls of dough and then pricked their flat creations to prevent the dough from rising. (The whole scene was too cute for words).
