320. Keef

graffiti, Tel Aviv
Today it is raining in Israel - BIG TIME. I was happy to capture this heart close to my home which I had passed many times and saved for a rainy day.
Keef is the hebrew word for giving a high-five.
As I captured this heart I wanted to give it a keef!
This heart would love for others to support Israel at Heart in helping to promote a better understanding of Israel and its people http://www.israelatheart.org/aboutus.php

278. Mud

rain water puddle in mud, Tel Aviv
Today my umbrella broke in the rain. There was something relieving about having my hand once again available to me - I ate dried pineapple slices as I was getting soaked, and it felt wonderful!
A while later I bought an umbrella - it is red, and was a pain to hold. Capturing this heart with a half available hand was no easy chore.
This heart seems to shout out that part of having love in our lives means we must get messy.

263. I Love Zizi

graffiti, Tel Aviv

The French community seems to be growing in Israel, and with it came some fantastic street art.
This heart takes me to a French song called Le Zizi (the Penis), by Pierre Perret which I grew up on and loved listening to...(to hear the song click on the following link)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIvLqgvO5Tg ...perhaps in there lies the seed to my studying Sex Therapy?

225. No - Yes - Mi

art work in book, Raanana
Today I met Yohanan, a very sweet, talented and funny man, who creates charming works of art which are currently on exhibit at Yad Lebanim in Raanana.
This heart is one of Yohanan's creations, which subliminally bares the name of his daughter, Nomi - (No - Yes-Mi) - hey that's my name too!
Thank you Yohanan for sharing some of your heart and wisdom with me today.
Yohanan's heart would love "for others to save water in Israel, but shower more!" For more on conserving water in Israel http://www.sviva.gov.il/bin/en.jsp?enPage=e_BlankPage&enDisplay=view&enDispWhat=Object&enDispWho=Articals^l2068&enZone=Water_Conservation

219. Home Away from Home

rock, Tel Aviv
While Sylvio lives in Israel, he owns a piece of land in Brazil. Sylvio carries this heart-shaped rock with him to feel close to his home away from home.
In many ways Sylvio is like my rock, and I am so happy that he is building roots here close to me.

216. Heartfelt

rug, Raanana
I don't know if it is the morning rain but I feel a sadness in the air, and my heart feels heavy. While I could bring you a heart which is snapped just for show, I would prefer to keep this project heartfelt. Hence, I wrote on Facebook and asked if anyone had a heart to give me today...
Thank you Ari for sending me this heart which seems to scream out Love! Thank you also to his 5 year old niece Tali for letting him use your rug for this photo.
This heart serves as a reminder to ask for help and to not stop believing!

213. Peace

flower petals, Tel Aviv
As fall has arrived, the sidewalks are covered with fallen leaves and petals...
"To everything turn,turn,turn
There is a season turn,turn,turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven
[This heart believes in] a time of peace, I swear it's not too late!" (The Byrds)

200. Assertive, Youthful and Optimistic

cloud, Kibbutz Hanita
Finding shapes in the clouds is a game played by children - while looking for hearts in the clouds is a game played by the optimistic and youthful.
Yifat is one of the most naturally radiant women I have met, both inside and out.
I love that Yifat asked me to post this heart she found - this demonstrates the assertiveness of a woman who can be both youthful and optimistic - now run with the wolves, baby!

177. Hanging on to Baggage

metal bag holder, Tel Aviv
Today I met up with my dear friend Simone, whom I cannot believe it took this long to make it into Levavot. Simone and I connect on so many levels, and for that reason I cherish our friendship greatly.
Today Simone spoiled me with a bunch of hearts, one of which is captured here - Thanks Simone!
This heart casually hangs on to baggage, and still seems to have lots more room for love.

169. Dad and Mom Love Bar

carving in cement, At base of an electical column, Tel Aviv

I found this heart in the strangest of places: at the base of an electical column, surrounded by four walls. Were it not for Hugo sniffing the terrain this heart would have surely been missed.

Equally unusual for a cement street carving was the writing, "Dad and mom love Bar". I couldn't help but wonder who wrote this?

This heart seems desperately to crave security and unconditional love.

159. A Curator at Heart

business card, Israel Museum logo, Israel Museum, Jerusalem
Amitai is the curator of Israeli art at the Israel museum, Jerusalem. Just like his name which in Hebrew means genuine, this man is genuinely passionate and caring about art.
Today, as we sat and discussed Levavot he bagan to see them all over, and even filled in the gaps to transform the Museum's logo into a heart.
Amitai is clearly a curator at heart!

158. Eat your Heart Out

cookie, Givat Chen
While this cookie was actually captured yesterday, I felt that the protest was a more important heart to show.
In love we must learn to compromise. However, if we really love something we do not need to give it up altogether.
I love dessert, and was willing to compromise for this heart - that is why you see it a day later.
